Luna Izpisua Rodriguez
Luna Izpisua Rodriguez is a Romani-Spanish-American theater director, writer, and visual artist. Two of the biggest honors in Luna’s life arrived together — motherhood and assistant directing for Asher Hartman’s Mommy Leaks the Floor and Kay Whale. Her son Pablo Niño was 5 months old when he appeared alongside her in the New Theater Hollywood’s production of Mommy Leaks the Floor.
Izpisua Rodriguez holds an MFA in Fine Art and Theater Directing from CalArts, an ME in Industrial Engineering from UC Berkeley, and a BS in Chemistry from UC Berkeley. Luna is a Princess Grace Foundation awardee, a Fung Institute fellow, a resident at The Reef, and a board member of the performance studio Time + Space LA. Her most recent original work, Open House included many of the Gawdawfull Theater Company members and was presented at the REDCAT NOW 2026 Festival.
